So far, you’ve seen how to work actively with your students. Now you will learn how to lock internet access when students are working on their own.
You can keep students on task by locking internet access. Turn browsing owner off with one click, and you can lock one student, a group or all student computers at once.
Lock Web is found in the controlling section of the home tab. It toggles on and off and the lock web badge appears on student computer icons to let you know the visually locked in the web.
Start lock web by clicking the icon on the ribbon. A badge will appear on the student thumbnails to visually show that they’re locked from the internet. If a student tries to navigate, they’ll see the stop sign to let them know that internet access is blocked. To block individuals or groups, simply select the student thumbnails and click the lock web icon.
Control your class and focus attention with lock web. It keeps students on task, allowing access only when you need it and allows individual students to access the web once they’ve completed their assignments or as they reach a certain milestone.
