We are Netop Solutions A/S, a privately held Danish company with offices in several countries around the world. Our worldwide headquarters is located at: Bregnerødvej 139, 3460 Birkerød, Denmark.
What personal data do we collect?
Personal data does not refer to student data. Information on how we use and protect student data may be found here.
Netop collects personal data that may identify you, or that could be combined by us or our service providers and affiliates with other information to identify you. The personal data may include your name, organization/company/school, address, telephone number, email address, internet protocol (IP) address, cookie ID, username, computer host name, password, product/service preferences or contact preferences.
When using services provided by, or hosted by Netop, additional information related to your access and usage of the products is also collected.
Why do we collect personal data?
Personal information is collected to provide products and services and to manage our business operations. For example, your information may be used to:
- Register your account
- Authenticate you when you log into your account
- Process and fulfill requests for products or services
- Communicate with you about products or services
- Promote relevant products or services you may be interested in
- Customize our website, products and services to your preferences
- Improve our products and services
- Optimize the performance of our products or services
- Communicate with you about customer service issues
- Protect the security and integrity of our website, products, and services
When do we collect personal data?
Your personal data may be collected in one of the following circumstances:
- When you try or purchase our software or services
- When you create an account on one of our websites
- When you use one of our services
- When you contact us for customer service
- When you sign-up for our promotional materials and activities
- When you speak with us at an event
- When you visit one of our websites
These tools may also collect information such as (IP) address, clickstream behavior (what elements you click on our webpages), and pages visited within our website domains. When a visitor requests a page from any website within Netop’s network, our web servers recognize the visitor's domain name and IP address.
When you receive emails from Netop, we use embedded links to track the effectiveness of our marketing initiatives, such as whether you have opened the email or clicked a link within it. Netop also collects information from credible third-party sources that are commercially or and/or publicly available. This information may include your name, address, email address and demographic data which may be may be used along with the information Netop collects when you visit Netop’s network.
We also work closely with third party advertising networks, analytics providers, hosting providers and search information providers from whom we may receive general aggregated anonymous information about you. We will combine the information you provide to us with information we collect about you.
Occasionally, Netop may obtain additional personal information from a third-party provider, but only in circumstances when you have consented to the third-party to pass on your details to us and when we believe our products or services are relevant to you.
How do we protect data?
We maintain information security measures designed to protect personal data from unauthorized disclosure or access. We use administrative, technical and physical procedures to limit access to data to those employees who require it to perform their job functions.
How long do we retain the data?
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or security requirements.
Because these needs can vary for different data types in the context of different products, services or use-cases, actual retention periods can vary significantly.
Who do we share personal data with?
Netop works with service providers, suppliers, sales and marketing organizations to better deliver our products and services, and to assist Netop with marketing and communication initiatives.
In instances where the personal data of EU citizens is shared, we comply with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework.
Providers and suppliers include, for example, local resellers and online payment processors. The information provided by you is kept confidential and never shared with third parties except when necessary to fulfill requests for products, services, further information or technical support.
Third parties are required to keep confidential the information received on behalf of Netop and may not use it for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for Netop.
User generated data (e.g. product usage, product session data) is not shared with third parties and is strictly protected and only accessible to authorized Netop team members
Netop uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to understand how you browse our websites. Information like which site referred you, which pages you viewed, your geographic location, if you have visited the website before and which links and web-based assets you interacted with help us understand your needs and preferences so that we can provide more relevant information to you.
The information generated by these cookies about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Netop, and in some cases our contracted providers, to provide and optimize our services and product features. This information may be stored on servers in the United States or in other countries depending on which service provider is involved. Cookies are also used in the management of our digital advertising and promotion efforts. Netop uses Google Adwords, a service provided by Google, to facilitate interest-based advertising.
Cookies are generally valid for a limited time (often no more than 90 days) and may be provided by Netop or one of our service providers (e.g., Google, Facebook, Twitter). Please note that Netop does not control the cookies generated by third-party providers like Google.
By using the Netop websites, products and/or services, you consent to the processing of your personal data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Netop may collect the following information: student name, email, class name.
All data in transit is SSL encrypted. Industry-standard secure access controls are implemented for data at rest. We maintain information security measures designed to protect data from unauthorized disclosure or access. We use administrative, technical and physical procedures to limit access to data to those employees who require it to perform their job functions.
We do not sell student data. We do not use student data for marketing purposes, including behaviorally targeted advertising. Student data is only used for educational purposes, and student data is never shared with third parties.
Student data retention: We keep student data only as long as necessary for audit and reporting purposes, up to a maximum of 12 months.
Requests to review student data from parents, teachers, and administrators may be directed to email@example.com.
What are your rights and responsibilities?
By continuing to interact with the Netop network and our communications, you consent that Netop may process the aforementioned personal data collected while using our website, products and services. If you do not want Netop to collect and process this information, you may choose to: (1) modify your communication preferences and unsubscribe from emails sent by Netop; (2) not click links within emails or webpages created by Netop; or (3) tell your browser to refuse all cookies.
As a condition of submitting a Netop web-form, US residents consent to being contacted by Netop or its representatives to provide them with information about products and/or services that we think will be of interest to them; non-US residents may consent to these communications by checking the opt-in field present on Netop web-forms.
You have the ability to change your privacy and communication preferences by: (1) accessing account preferences from within Netop websites; (2) clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of Netop email messages; or (3) mailing a written request to the Netop mailing address.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can go to Our GDPR Page to request access, rectification, blocking or deletion of your personal data in our information systems.
Users of Netop software should also request access, rectification, blocking or deletion of personal data from their local system administrators to ensure that personal data maintained by the local administrator of Netop products and/or services is treated in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements.
If you are a customer with Netop in the EU, you can contact us for a data processing agreement on Netop’s role as processor and/or controller.
Notices may be by email to the last email address you provided us, by posting notice of such change on our Site or by other communication channels. You consent to receiving notices in these ways. We reserve the right to determine the form and means of providing notifications to you, consistent with applicable law.
