Enterprise Secure Remote Access Solution Enhances Capabilities for Supporting Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2 Tablets Running Windows 8 or 8.1
PORTLAND, OREGON – Released today, the latest version of Netop’s secure remote access solution, Netop Remote Control, improves support for Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2 Tablets running Windows 8 and 8.1. Building upon its initial support of the Windows 8 release in October 2012. Netop Remote Control enables IT managers and service desk representatives to remotely support Surface Pro tablets – wherever they are located – in the same way they support traditional laptop or desktop computers.
The latest version of Netop Remote Control improves the display of target devices for support personnel, providing for a better view of key elements on a smaller screen. From Netop’s desktop or browser-based support consoles, support representatives can quickly respond to ticket requests from Surface Pro users. Once a connection is established, support representatives can view the tablet’s screen, gain mouse and keyboard controls, transfer files and more. In keeping with Netop Remote Control’s industry leading security capabilities, customers can define granular permission settings and access rights, log all session activity and integrate with Active Directory.
The tablet market has exploded over the past few years and sales, according to some reports, could outpace laptops 6 to 1 by 2017. Given their compact size and lightweight design, tablets offer undeniable mobility benefits. But many are also limited in functionality and, as such, cannot fully replace an individual’s laptop or desktop. Microsoft’s Surface Pro tablets, however, are breaking these stereotypes. They offer a seamless experience regardless of whether or not a user is sitting at his desk plugged into a monitor or while traveling for work.
As companies continue to adopt Surface Pro tablets, replacing heavier laptops, Netop Remote Control customers can rest assured that they will be able to remotely access and support these devices. IT support representatives can also use Surface Pro tablets to provide support while on the move, be it on a different floor of an office building, across town or in a different country.
“Netop Remote Control enables companies to support nearly any IT asset wherever it may be located,” said Kurt Bager, CEO, Netop. “From tablets to servers, our enterprise-grade remote access solutions allow IT service representatives to provide reliable and consistent support with the security our customers have come to expect from Netop.”
