The Learning Center from Netop Now Features Enhanced Web-Based Assessment Capabilities for Blended and Flipped Learning EnvironmentsOctober 7, 2014
Updated Capabilities Include Interactive Videos, Polls and Surveys, Improved Setup and Management Tools
Today Netop released an update to its web-based student assessment tool, the Learning Center. First released as an addition to Vision Pro in February 2014, the Learning Center will also support the Vision ME iPad classroom workflow app, available in the App Store later this month.
The enhancements to the Learning Center provide teachers with expanded assessment capabilities and content types to increase student engagement and support blended learning, BYOD initiatives, and the growing number of iPad classrooms. Teachers can now embed interactive videos in assessments, transforming tests and quizzes into interactive learning experiences. They can also create and run polls and surveys to test comprehension or gauge interest, and receive instant student feedback.
“Assessment is an important part of the teaching and learning cycle and it is critical that teachers have the tools to create meaningful tests to monitor student progress,” said Kurt Bager, CEO of Netop. “Now the Learning Center offers them complete flexibility to create and administer interactive assessments with targeted content both in and out of the classroom.”
In addition, this update also simplifies and streamlines the setup process for IT administrators. Now they can send username and password information to new users automatically from the Learning Center, as well as import user data into the Learning Center from the school’s Active Directory database.
“It is important to us that our tools are effective and easy to use, for teachers and IT staff alike. The new features—interactive videos, polls, and surveys—open up new possibilities for student engagement. And from an administrative standpoint, it’s easier than ever to set up and manage,” added Ronny Tovgaard, senior vice president of education.
The newly improved Learning Center is included for free with Netop’s teacher-trusted classroom management software Vision Pro, or is available for purchase with the new Vision ME iPad classroom workflow app, designed to support teaching and learning in iPad classrooms. The Learning Center runs on any computer or tablet with a web browser and internet access, making it easy to provide school-wide access with affordable Vision Pro or Vision ME campus licensing.
