Understanding OnSight From a Technical Perspective
OnSight provides education professionals with the ability to monitor computer usage over an entire school or campus from any LAN-Connected location in an intuitive, easy to use Supervisor console.
OnSight employs a central SQL database for storage and security. All Supervisors must be registered with the database in order to monitor student computers, an approach that prevents tampering and protects privacy. Once registered, Supervisors may organize computers into logical groups of their choosing.
In addition to simple observation, Supervisors may use the Auto-Supervision feature to record usage data from student computers, even if the Supervision console is closed. Auto-Supervision data is stored in the database for search and retrieval at any time.
