IT prize 2007 goes to Ib Kunøe—a man with a good head for business

Ib Kunøe, chairman of the board of Consolidated Holdings, was on Thursday evening awarded the IT prize for 2007—The Danish IT Industry Association (ITB) tribute to a person who in a particularly outstanding way puts the focus on IT development in Denmark.

The award was presented yesterday evening at the ITB annual meeting at the Stock Exchange. The basis of the award committee’s decision for this year’s choice was summed up:

“The IT prize 2007 goes to a person who has contributed sound business acumen to the Danish IT industry.

Through the years, Ib Kunøe has ensured that many IT companies have a strong public profile—most recently, TOPNORDIC, Ementor, Gatetrade, and Danware.

Ib Kunøe is willing to take risks without being overly confident. He has a strong ability to see the strategic alliances necessary for a business to flourish. And he has a talent for finding precisely the right people and team to make things happen.

Ib Kunøe, and what he stands for, is more than just hot air—we are talking about tangible, sensible, and effective business know-how.

And furthermore, today’s winner is also unusually willing to share his knowledge and experience with others.”

ITB, who presents the award, is the largest and leading independent representative for the IT-business community in Denmark. The award was founded by IDG Denmark in 1991.

Previous winners of the IT prize are, among others, Skype founder Janus Friis, former minister Frank Jensen, as well as the brothers Erik and Preben Damgaard. With the prize comes a sculpture by the artist Paul Isbak. Further information about the prize and former winners can be found in the attached fact sheet.
