Kiosk Applications

Focus Students’ Efforts, Remove Distractions

Restrict your students' computer use to the applications you've opened for them

Limit access to files and websites during tests... focus class attention on the assignment... remove distractions on classroom computers...

Kiosk mode lets you lock your students' computers so the applications you open for them are the only ones they can access.

When you launch an application in Kiosk mode, it automatically launches on each computer in your class. Your students can't exit applications in Kiosk mode. If you open more than one application at a time - for example, a website and a spreadsheet - they're free to go back and forth between these, but they can't close them, open something else, access the desktop or restart their computers.

Kiosk mode is a great way to focus attention if your class is getting distracted by games or other files on their computers. If you're giving a test, it lets you decide which resources they can access while they work. And by simplifying the overall activity in the room, it makes it easier to keep everyone on task and learning.
