Meet the Next Generation of Netop School: Netop Vision Pro
Vision Pro is the next generation of Netop School, and current Netop School users will find many good reasons to upgrade to Vision Pro. That said, there’s no rush and there’s no pressure. As long as you have an active Netop Advantage plan, you can upgrade whenever it’s convenient for you.
Why upgrade to Vision Pro?
Netop met with teachers and IT administrators across the US and Europe who told us that usability is the most important aspect of their classroom management solution, followed closely by features. With that in mind, we designed the next generation of Netop School – Netop Vision Pro.
- Intuitive User Interface Netop School users will first notice a redesigned interface. We’ve updated the ribbon toolbar familiar to Netop School users, placing the most-used features front and center. As Netop School users upgrade and become familiar with the Vision Pro toolbar, they will find it much more intuitive to use.
- Improved Wireless Performance Netop School users will also notice a dramatic difference in wireless classrooms. Vision Pro has improved wireless performance as well as extended support for Microsoft 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
- High-Speed Screen Sharing Perhaps the biggest benefit of upgrading to Vision Pro is the new high-speed screen sharing. With this feature, you will be able to share any application you’re running with your students, without lags or delays. Working with CAD? No problem. Streaming a video? Vision Pro streams seamlessly. High-speed screen sharing allows you to share hardware-accelerated programs with your students.
- Ultimate Web Control With easily accessed block lists and resource lists, you can customize your students’ Internet access to meet your lesson. You can allow only certain, lesson-appropriate websites, or you can block the sites you know to be distracting while allowing the rest.
- Remote Login Vision Pro introduces Remote Login, which allows educators in a single-user environment to log into all computers simultaneously, saving class time. This is an especially useful feature in media centers and computer labs, as well as any school where students share a common username & password.
Discontinuation Plan for Netop School
As part of the Vision Pro release, Netop has announced the discontinuation of Netop School.
New and add-on licenses can be purchased through June 30, 2012 and development of the product is limited to bug fixes only. Technical support is available for customers with active Advantage plans through the end of 2013.
